August 9, 2009 — Vancouver crews were dispatched to an early morning fire at a multi-story, multi-family dwelling on NE 51^st circle. After a quick escalation to 2-alarm; 12 apartments were destroyed and more than 30 people had been displaced. The Fire Marshall's public report lists the cause of this $1 million fire as an improperly discarded cigarette but on a wooden deck.
